Y7 Chepstow Castle Visit

On Wednesday 16th March we took the Year 7 students on a trip to Chepstow Castle as part of the Humanities course. We were able to have a tour of the castle and the beautiful surrounding area with a superb guide who told us about its history. In the afternoon he gave us a talk about fighting and medicine in the middle ages, and showed us his skills as a marksman, during which he was timed by our students firing 16 arrows at a target in 60 seconds. It was a very interesting trip and the students all learnt a great deal about castles and their importance.

It was a long day but it was a pleasure to be with such polite and well mannered students.

Thank you to Miss Slee and Miss Jenkins for arranging the visit, and to PGCE student Mr Richards who impressed the group with his knowledge of Welsh and his rendition of the Welsh National Anthem.
