Washington Treat

Super storm Sandy put a stop to our visit to Washington DC in October 2012. We were able to rebook the trip for this February half term. We left Heathrow on 18th February.  Our wonderful contact, Jasmine Patrick who works for Congressman Mac Thornberry (Texas 13) had sorted out visits to the White House, the Pentagon and Capitol Hill for us. Our seven Post 16 students on the trip were Shannah Haywood, Frida Gronvold, Eleni Greenwood, Bethan Davey, Rob Bridge, Alec Brimson, and Graham Taylor.  Former student Sarah Padden joined the group as an extra helper.

The weather was cold but mostly sunny and we all had a fantastic time. We vsited the Supreme Court and the National Archives so really did a thorough job of covering the A level Government and Politics A2 syllabus on the Government and Politics of the USA.  A hugely enjoyable trip and also highly informative.  All the students behaved perfectly and were an absolute credit to Clyst Vale.
