Safety Success for Sam
Sam Terrett, a Year 7 pupil at Clyst Vale, has been selected as the 2014 winning entry of the National Federation of Builders’ short story competition – ‘Stay Safe, Stay Away’.
As the winner, Sam has won a £500 donation for the school alongside £100 in W H Smiths vouchers for himself. Additionally, he will also be treated to an all-expenses paid day out in London, next Tuesday (8 July 2014). During the day he will meet with the All Party Parliamentary Group Chair for Health and Safety, Mr Jim Sheridan MP at Westminster where he will enjoy a tour of the House of Commons followed by photos on the Green. He will also enjoy lunch on the South Bank followed by a VIP private pod ride on the London Eye.
In our morning assembly this Friday (4th July) Sam will be presented with his prizes by Nicki Hunt-Davison who is the regional operations executive for the NFB. She will also give students a talk about the risks associated with construction sites.
