Discomania

IMGP8485Around one hundred staff and students turned out to support the Year 7/8 Disco for Kenya just before the Easter holidays. Yellow School managed to raise in excess of £300 as part of their fundraising effort to bring students from our Kenyan Partner School over to the UK. There were some fantastic games and dance competitions, thanks to the hard work of our energetic student leaders – Hamish, George and Emma.

A madcap evening of dancing – in some cases far more enthusiastic than talented (Mr Bailey), laughter and general good cheer was enjoyed by all as the staff and students boogied the night away until 8:00pm.  ‘DJ Pete’  kept the dance floor busy the whole evening  and was well supported  by Clyst Vale’s own ‘DJ Chris’.

A tuck-shop was ably staffed throughout the evening, thanks to the dedication of  two of our more senior students, Hannah and Bella.

Special thanks go to Mrs Turner (Yellow School AtHoS) for all her hard work in helping to prepare and promote the disco, and to the tutors and co-tutors of Yellow School for giving up their time to supervise the event. In addition, a great debt of gratitude is owed to both Miss King and ‘DJ Pete’ for providing such a spectacular evening of music, complete with a state of the art light show.
