Government and Politics Trip to London
On 27th June, Y12 Government and Politics students went on a trip to London. They met Exeter’s MP Ben Bradshaw and the East Devon MP, Rt Hon Hugo Swire, had arranged tickets for the House of Commons Gallery. We were extraordinarily lucky and were able to stay for the speech by the PM David Cameron announcing his decision to resign; he also set our the plans for attempting to negotiate our exit from the EU. We heard speeches from Jeremy Corbyn and many other prominent MPs, and then went to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office where Minister Hugo Swire spent an hour answering questions from our students.
This was an historic day and one which our students will never forget.
