Washington DC Trip February Half Term 2018
Over the half term a group of Year 12 and 13’s had the opportunity, thanks to Mrs Padden, to go to Washington DC. It was a week packed full of visits to all the iconic areas of Washington and American politics. We managed to get into the White House, Capitol Hill and the Pentagon. We were guests of Senator Patty Murray, from Washington State, during our tour of Capitol Hill. We met her staff in the Russell Office building which is close to the US Supreme Court. We were also the first year to get into the newly built African American history museum, which was an incredible opportunity. This trip taught us a great deal about how America is run now and throughout history.
