Printing Workshop Fun

A mix of talented artists from Year 7, 8 and 9 recently took part in an exciting day of printmaking. They were introduced to the art of gelli printing and collaging using new kit acquired by the college this year. All of the students involved made amazing abstract prints and collages using colours and shapes linked to climate change and Article 24 of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, in particular: ‘Children have the right to clean water and a clean environment’.

We were joined by printmaker and artist Brenda Hare who brought in some of her own work as inspiration and spent the day helping students develop their skills.

Ms Jacobs also popped in to see the students working and provide encouragement. It was wonderful to see each student displaying creativity, enthusiasm and resilience and they should feel very proud of their artwork.
