ITV News West Country @ Clyst Vale

It was a pleasure to welcome regional presenter Richard Lawrence and videographer Matt Cardy to Clyst Vale yesterday. They came to interview a group of Year 11 students about their views on an app being trialled by the Government whereby students can receive their GCSE results digitally.

The confirmation email arrived at the same time as the reporters arrived in reception and so with little notice, the students were plucked from their lessons with only minutes to adjust their hair and ties! The unprompted responses from all of the students was that they really value coming to school to collect their results in person as this is both a ritual and an opportunity to receive support from their teachers and to thank them for their support. The students presented themselves brilliantly and with not so much as a practice or second take, gave their responses in a perfectly clear and concise manner.

Well done to Harry, Aaron, Sam, Lucy, Millie and Shola for representing Clyst Vale so amazingly.
We can’t wait to see the news report, which should be aired within the next 10 days.
