Phishing is a malicious attempt to trick you into providing personal information, such as username, password or other sensitive information. The attempt is normally made by fraudulently posing as a legitimate organisation. A classic example of a phishing attack is an email, claiming to be from your bank, which asks you to provide your login information in order to safeguard your account. Anyone who provided that information might well find it being used to gain criminal access to their bank accounts.
