……….is how Frida Gronvold described her year at Clyst Vale. Frida (from Norway), Johanna Kleuvers and Marie Schucht (both from Germany) spent 2012-13 in Year 12 as part of an international programme. All three girls stayed with host families and attended a full programme of lessons leading to exams at AS and A2.
Frida, Johanna and Marie were delighted with their welcome, and singled out the Y12 Bude residential as really important in helping them integrate. They were impressed by the small class sizes, being able to specialise in a small range of subjects, the quality of marking and speed of turnaround compared to their home schools, enrichment activities, and most of all the friendships they have made.
It has been a real pleasure to have three such positive and motivated students with us. It has also benefited our students enormously to be able to learn first-hand about education in Europe, the similarities and differences. We wish all three every success in the future, and hope to see them again.
