Faraday Challenge a Success
On Wednesday 18th March 2015 the IET funded a Faraday Challenge Day. Other local schools were also invited to work in small teams, designing and developing a product to make cycling safer and warn cyclist of upcoming dangers. Students modelled electronic circuits and then designed and made housings, developing a computer generated model which they then printed using 3D printers. Teams had to use their STEM skills to manage accounts, set budgets and work to tight time schedules before presenting their work in a “Dragon’s Den” style to the course facilitator. A team from Clyst Vale won the competition, but all students involved benefited immensely from their participation and also welcomed the competition from other local schools!
Many thanks to the IET for their funding.
