Non-Uniform Day – Fri 20th March (tomorrow!)

Non-Uniform Day – Friday 20th March 2020

In response to student requests, the non-uniform day that was scheduled to take place on 27th March has been brought forward to TOMORROW, 20th March.

We hope that being able to wear non-uniform and collect money for a worthy cause will help brighten our students’ spirits, at what is proving to be a difficult time for everyone.

Our nominated charity for this half term is Children’s Hospice South West, who themselves are facing particular challenges as a result of Coronovirus.  We hope that students will welcome the opportunity to do something positive to support the most poorly and vulnerable children in the region, at this especially challenging time.

We encourage all students who come to school in their ‘home clothes’ to donate 50p towards the collection for Children’s Hospice South West.  Tutors will collect donations at registration.

We will update everyone on funds raised, following the event.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Who are Children’s Hospice South West?

“We provide hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family across the South West. The care we offer is wide ranging; respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care. We operate three hospices; Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in mid Cornwall.

We offer a home from home where children with life-limiting conditions and their families can take a short break away from home to re-charge their batteries in a homely, warm and welcoming environment. Providing a much-needed break from the ongoing strains of caring for their children at home, juggling professional and medical appointments as well as maintaining family life and employment. In the main we provide respite, the chance for families to get away from it all, but we also offer emergency and palliative care in a peaceful and comfortable setting.”
