A Great Way to End the Year, No 1
I was delighted to re-present Clyst Vale’s annual awards for 2011-12 to five fantastic and thoroughly deserving young people. In fact, they received their own shields to keep in a place of honour. Chloe Betts was awarded the Dave Howell Caring Cup for the student who is most caring and thoughtful towards others; Rob Bridge received the Governors’ Citizenship Shield for the student who has contributed most towards “student and wider citizenship” issues; the Ostler Award for Outstanding Personal Achievement was awarded to Lucy Bourne for her prowess in girls’ rugby and sport in general; Harry Sanders received the Spirit of Devon Award for the student who has made the most progress academically from the start of Year 7 to the end of Year 9; the College is fortunate to have many talented musicians, but accomplished flautist, saxophonist and singer Ellie Davis was the Musician of the Year.
